One of Seattle's weridest and most recognizable icons , the famous bubblegum pink Lincoln Toe Truck, builty by Ed Lincoln, Ed Ellison and Joan McGinnis out of an old VW bus, sat prominently the foot (haha) of the Mercer Street on/offramps at Fairview Avenue N and Mercer St for 25 years. The Toe Truck was also popular in parades, and hired out for charity to parties, weddings - and once to even pick up a business exec at the airport. The sole source of advertising for Lincoln Towing, in 2005 the Toe Truck moved (via a parade of local tow trucks) to the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), where it currently resides.
